Prof. Qing Lv currently serves as Director of Department of Breast Surgery of West China Hospital; Academic and Technical Leader appointed by Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Sichuan Provincial Government; member of standing Committee of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, Expert Committee of Training of Breast Disease; Chairman/vice chairman of Sichuan Medical Association, Sichuan Medical Doctor Association, Sichuan Anti-Cancer Association and Sichuan Preventive Medicine Association, Committee of Breast Disease Society.
Prof. Lv obtained M.D. degree from West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University (Former West China University of Medical Sciences) in 1985. Her prior appointments include resident of gastroenterological surgery (also as doctor of gastrointestinal endoscopy in the meantime), attending of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery (where she initiated the first case of cholecystectomy via laparoscope in West China Hospital in 1992); associate chief physician and chief physician of breast surgery. Since Sept. 1997, she has been devoted to clinical practice and researches of breast diseases. She focuses on the early diagnosis of breast diseases, the functional protection and breast reconstruction in patients with breast cancers, the standard treatment of breast cancers and patient management. She plays a leading role regionally in novel technologies of breast surgeries such as sentinel lymph node biopsy and surgeries of functional reconstruction of the breast. She has published over 60 articles on breast diseases, including more than 10 SCI articles. She has been granted a national invention patent A Method of Preparing Hydrogel from Acellular Porcine Adipose Tissue.
Currently, her academic focuses include basic and translational research of adipose and soft tissue engineering, and basic and epidemiological research on the effect of environmental estrogens on the development of breast cancer.
