Performance of fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (¹⁸F-FDG) dedicated breast PET for early breast cancer

Diagnosticimaging in primary breast cancer is used for screening, staging, deciding theresection area, detecting other lesions, evaluating the treatment response, andother purposes. The fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (¹⁸F-FDG)positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) was developed todetect hyper-glucometabolism in cancer tissue and its use in clinicalmanagement (1).
