Dr. Ayush Kapila is a consultant plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon at the University Hospital Brussels (UZ Brussel), with affiliations in both Belgium and the United Kingdom. He is board-certified by the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS) and the Belgian Collegium Chirurgicum Plasticum (CCP). His practice spans complex reconstructive microsurgery, aesthetic surgery, and facial and breast reconstruction, with a focus on natural, functional, and individualized outcomes.

Dr. Kapila obtained his medical degree and BSc with honours from King’s College and Imperial College London. He later completed his specialist training in plastic surgery in Brussels, ranking the top of his cohort. He has undertaken further subspecialty training in London and Vienna in advanced aesthetic surgery, rhinoplasty, and microsurgical reconstruction.

A clinician-scientist at heart, Dr. Kapila performs his research at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where his work focuses on the integration of emerging technologies—such as artificial intelligence, robotic-assisted surgery, and simulation-based training—into the field of reconstructive microsurgery. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and is a sought-after speaker on topics including breast reconstruction, surgical innovation, and the future of microsurgical education.

Dr. Kapila serves on the editorial boards of several international journals and is an active peer reviewer. His scholarly contributions reflect a commitment to advancing evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and academic excellence.
